Lutheran Northwest getting it done on both diamonds

Every year during the spring sports season, Kosmo has a bigger question on his mind than just who are the best baseball and softball teams in the county.
Those are important things to know, but the K-Man prefers to ask "Which school has both good baseball and softball this spring?"
So far this year, the school with the best combination of good baseball and softball teams appears to be Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest.
In softball, the Crusaders were off to a 12-2 start going into this past weekend and have a senior-laden team with a terrific offense led by Gracen Meyers and Kirsten Thompson, and solid pitching behind Kacie Todd.
The softball team is currently an honorable mention in the Division 4 state rankings and have the talent to make a run in the state tournament.
The baseball team has slumped a little bit lately, but that's normal for any team. The Crusaders still have spent some time in the state rankings this year and are off to a 12-5 start behind a balanced offensive attack.
Lutheran Northwest is no stranger to success, given the Crusaders won the 2004 Division 4 state title and made it to the semifinals in 2006. Don't be surprised if another long run is in store during next month's playoffs.
