Traditional powers in playoff trouble?
With each and every week, the playoff picture gets a little more clear and in focus.
There are only two more weeks of the regular season, and as of now, two traditional powers might be in some playoff trouble.
Both Farmington Hills Harrison and Novi Detroit Catholic Central are 4-3 following losses this past week, which means the two have to win out to earn the six wins to automatically qualify for the playoffs.
That won't be an easy task, given Harrison plays at 6-1 Farmington on Friday while Catholic Central plays at 6-1 Orchard Lake St. Mary's.
Of the two, Catholic Central probably has the best chance to make the postseason because with its brutal schedule, getting to five wins will probably be good enough to earn a playoff spot.
Kosmo isn't so sure about Harrison, although the Hawks have lost to quality teams in Oak Park, Southfield and Oxford.
The playoff forecast for each team will be really into focus in the next two weeks.
For the sake of these state powers, Kosmo hopes 5-4 will be good enough to get in the playoffs, because he has his doubts they can get to 6-3.
