Kosmo's 3 stars for Friday
Believe it or not we are nearing the end of the regular season for basketball. The girls state tournament starts in two weeks and the boys have league tournaments starting next week. This is the peak time and obviously there are plenty of peak performances to match. Here are the 3 best from Friday night.
Third star
Walter Kesler, Walled Lake Central - It is one thing to score 17 points. It is another to do that and also hit the game-winning shot to give your team a share of a league title, but that was what Kelser did in a 52-50 OT win over Waterford Mott to give Central a share of the KLAA North.
Second star
Carter Drazga, South Lyon - Salem hadn't lost a league game in the KLAA Central before Friday, but that sure changed thanks to Drazga, who scored 20 points in a 65-45 Lions win over the Rocks. Hear him roar.
First star
Kerri McMahan, Novi - There is nothing Kosmo loves more than seeing a team's best players play their best in the biggest games, and that is what McMahan did on Friday. The Wildcats won another KLAA Central title, beating second place Livonia Stevenson by four points because of McMahan, who scored 32 points and willed her team to a title. The definition of senior leadership.
