Kosmo 3 stars for Wednesday night
We are down to the district finals now for girls basketball teams and for some hockey teams, regional finals after another thrilling night of action on Wednesday. Strange that a Wednesday is so busy with stuff other than wrestling, but that must mean the playoffs are in full swing. Got to love it. Here are your seer's 3 stars for Wednesday.
Third star
Micaela Ellis, Ferndale
Somewhere, the late and great Joe Mahan is smiling. His Eagles made it to a district final thanks in large part to Ellis, who scored 27 points in an easy win over Detroit University Prep.
Second star
Jacob Howard, Troy hockey - It is one thing to score the game-winning goal, but it is quite another to do it in a playoff game with no time left on the clock to give your team a win. Must have been quite a celebration for Howard and the Colts.
First star
Sammy Nardicchio, Orchard Lake St. Mary's hockey - Hopefully Nardicchio is given a nice ovation in class on Thursday because he is the biggest reason OLSM is still playing. He had two assists and scored the game-winning goal late in the third period to give the Eaglets a 4-3 win over Brother Rice.
