Big regular season events coming up

Another day in Kosmo's cave, and another day where loads of prep games have been cancelled because of this horrible spring weather.
The K-Man certainly hasn't seen anything like it, and he sure feels sorry for spring coaches everywhere and the AD's who have to re-schedule game after game.
The good news though is that finally, some big regular season events are coming up for spring sports.
On Saturday, the annual Michigan Stars tournament will be held at Bicentennial Park in Grand Blanc. Arguably the best regular season tournament in the state, the 48-team field annually features some of the state's best teams who travel from far distances.
Also on Saturday, the West Bloomfield track and field invitational will be held. Like the Stars tournament is for softball, the West Bloomfield Invite is the first big invite of the season that features some of the state's best.
Finally on Monday, Birmingham Seaholm golf coach Leon Braisted will conduct the Holiday Inn Express tournament at Orchard Lake Country Club, a field that should be loaded with state powerhouses such as Brother Rice and Catholic Central.
Even though the weather doesn't indicate it, these upcoming events at least signal that spring is heating up.
- In other news, three Waterford Kettering football players will sign next week to play in college. Danny Egres, Andrew Micovich and Chet Sadowski will ink to play at Concordia University.
