All-State travesty
Of late, Kosmo's spies say they have been taking some calls from frustrated coaches and players regarding the recent all-state selections for girls basketball.
On behalf of he and his spies, all Kosmo can say to those people is that you couldn't be more right.
It's an absolute joke that Lauren Robak of Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes and Bethany Watterworth of Lake Orion didn't receive ANY all-state recognition.
Watterworth is a Division I collegiate player who's headed to Oakland University. She was arguably the best player in Oakland County this year, but evidently the 10-person all-state panel didn't know much about her.
Hopefully with her 28-point performance in the state semifinals against Benton Harbor, those people know who she is now and feel a foot-tall for leaving her off of the list.
Same goes for Robak, a sophomore who averaged 23 points per game this year in helping lead the Lakers to the Class D quarterfinals.
Robak is a future Division I player even though she plays at a small school.
It's too bad the system has to be so flawed and leave such deserving players devoid of all-state recognition when they clearly deserve it.
