Oxford to the OAA?

Kosmo is never one to cave in to rumor and speculation, but even he can't ignore what's been an ongoing one in the air around northern Oakland County this entire school year.
Rumor has it that Oxford has petitioned to join the Oakland Activities Association starting in the 2010-11 school year.
The K-Man can't imagine there would be many hangups with this process, so it's a good bet next year will be the last year Oxford is in the Flint Metro.
If that's indeed the case, it would be a good move not only for Oxford, but its surrounding communities. Oxford is plenty close to schools like Lake Orion, Clarkston, Auburn Hills Avondale and the three Rochester schools, and it would be nice to see those border town rivalries either renewed or intensified.
Kosmo would especially be excited to see Oxford and Lake Orion meet in football, given it's been over 20 years since the schools met.
Can you imagine the hype beforehand and the atmosphere at such a game?
Indeed, nothing is official yet. But speculation is rampant that the process is ongoing and it would be surprising if Oxford isn't in the OAA come the 2010-11 school year.
